When I first I moved to Oregon, I couldn’t wait to capture the magic of a winter elopement in Crater Lake National Park! I imagined a beautiful lavender dress against the ethereal white snowy landscape and knew it would make an unforgettable photo shoot!
When Tandie reached out to me on Facebook about her sola wood flower business, I was intrigued. I had never heard of sola wood florals but I was curious to check them out for myself.
Sola wood florals are a great alternative to real flowers for a few good reasons, but the best of all is that they last forever! They aren’t tough like you would expect wood to be but quite malleable and easy to shape, paint and turn into whichever florals you’d like.
Tandie and I had dreamed up this winter wonderland photo shoot back in December but the snow storms kept pushing back our timeline and we had to reschedule a few times. (something to keep in mind if you plan to elope at Crater Lake National Park in the winter)
I shared a few inspiration photos with Tandie to see what she thought and to my surprise she was immediately on board!

You see, Tandie is a master artist of sola wood florals. And if you don’t know what those are, here’s a quick synopsis:
Sola Wood Florals are made from the pulp of woody plant roots. They are not stiff but pliable and even feel like a very thick flower petal!
Here’s why they’re a great option to consider for your elopement bouquet:
Eloping in epic places is amazing but also means that we need to be conscientious of what we bring into that environment.
Real bouquets sometimes contain the seeds of plants that are invasive to that location so we need to be aware and either plan to bring a bouquet of florals native to the land your elopement takes place in or find another eco-friendly alternative.
Sola wood florals are a great option because you don’t need to worry about all that! AND you get to keep your bouquet forever…
AND THEY LOOK TOTALLY REAL!
You can custom design literally any flowers your hearts desire for your elopement bouquet and you can either keep them forever or gift it to the next lucky eloping couple.
It’s the most environmentally friendly alternative to real florals I’ve ever come across and I’m so grateful to Tandie for collaborating with me on my vision so that I can show eloping couples how amazing they are!

Our model Whitney is also an incredible human doing major things. She’s a phenomenal mental health specialist embarking on a new chapter in her career, creating a company called Women Waken.
Women Waken is open to all genders, encouraging the connection of women to collaborate, innovate, and awaken to their natural born feminine gifts. To embrace their feminine values and use them to bring more peace and love into the world.
I am proud to say that this collaboration was exactly that!
